Grand Knight - responsibilities

· Presides over council meetings and council activities. 

· Ensures that council meetings adhere to the Constitution and Laws of 

  the Order. 

· Coordinates and supervises the council's activities to achieve its aims. 

· Acts as the chair of the council's recruitment and retention efforts. 

· Sets up events that display the values and principles of the Knights 

  of Columbus. 

· Works to increase membership and retain existing members. 

· Ensures that the council's financial records are accurate and in order. 

· Oversees council programs and activities. 

· Appoints program and committee directors as needed. 

· Ensures all necessary reports are submitted to the state and Supreme
 Council. 

· Coordinates the installation of council officers. 

· Fills officer roles in the event of vacancies. 

· Countersigns checks and orders for payment. 

· Coordinates installation of council officers with district deputy. 

· Acts as an ex-officio member of all committees. 

· Maintains contact with the parish priest or pastor. 

· Ensuring that the council's membership records, including email
 addresses, are kept updated and that new members sign the
 constitutional roll .
