Deputy Grand Knight - responsibilities
Second in Command
The Deputy Grand Knight is second in command within the council, assisting the Grand Knight in all aspects of council operations.
Presides in Absence
In the event of the Grand Knight's absence or inability to preside, the Deputy Grand Knight takes over as the presiding officer at council meetings.
Assists with Council Affairs
The Deputy Grand Knight helps the Grand Knight with various council duties and responsibilities, as assigned by the Grand Knight.
Program Director
Some councils may designate the Deputy Grand Knight as their program director, overseeing the council's activities and programs.
Liaison
The Deputy Grand Knight may serve as a liaison between the council and other groups that share similar interests.
Retention Committee
It is suggested that the Deputy Grand Knight and the board of trustees serve on the council's retention committee
Advisory Board
The Deputy Grand Knight is a member of the Advisory Board charged with general supervision of a Columbian Squires circle sponsored by his council.
Grooming for Grand Knight
The Deputy Grand Knight role might be used to groom a possible Grand Knight candidate for the following year.
